Australian singer/songwriter Alice Hurwood creates charming folk-pop that shimmers with intimacy and emotional depth. Blending her angelic vocals with atmospheric cello lines, Alice crafts songs that navigate love, longing, and self-discovery, inviting listeners into a world that feels both delicate and powerful.
Building on the success of her debut EP Retrospect (2021), which first introduced her as a compelling voice in Australia’s indie-folk scene, Alice’s 2025 album Can We Talk Sometime was launched at a sold-out show at Melbourne’s Wesley Anne. Relocating to Europe in late 2025 Alice has been performing extensively and presented her original music at TEDxBerlin.
Alice has performed as a solo artist at the 2025 National Folk Festival, and with her mother Helen Mountfort (from My Friend the Chocolate Cake) at the Cygnet Folk festival, as well as joining iconic art-rock group Not Drowning, Waving, at the 2025 Sydney Festival, and WOMAD Aotearoa.
Alice was named APRA AMCOS Young Songwriter of the Year in 2020 and later selected for the highly competitive APRA AMCOS 23% Mentorship Program. Whether in intimate rooms or on festival stages, Alice Hurwood’s music remains rooted in connection, offering listeners beauty, sincerity, and space to feel.
